I'm only living here for the summer. But I would say you would NOT want to be earning less than 50 K / year.
Things I like about NYC:
people, food, bars, parties, etc.Things I don't like:
heat ( in the summer ), public transportation can be a bitch like it was this morning, noise pollution and lack of easy get away to the country side.
