I see resumé as good opportunity to do a nice & clean grid-based typographic work.
I like to keep the choice of font simple, Helvetica alike but you can use different weight & size to make contrast.
The job of your resumé is to provide the information as clearly and fast as possible and your experience should speak for themselves. A good designer will notice a nice swiss-style job and the office lady will appreciate the ease of read and professional feel of it.
Your portfolio is where you creativity should be showcase.
