    Question: when you use a font managing program, do you only need to put that font in that program and not also into the system folder for fonts?

    Jaline,

    the program will manage your system fonts folder. It will put the fonts you added to the program in a separate library that will not be read by the system. Once you activate a font the font managing application will add that font to the system fonts folder and when deactivated it will remove it from that folder again.

    This way your system is not loaded with fonts, which means slower loading times for other applications, as all those fonts need to be read first.
