They are beer snobs, this beer is a treat (to be tried once before you die).
It is nowhere close to the sheer disgusting-ness of Sierra Ice ... and thankfully it is nowhere close.
However, funny story (to me), this bar I used to frequent underage the one guy who ran it, eventually bought it out ... and changed the name of the bar to his name and put the logo of the Old German guy real big on the outside of the bar, haha.
He would throw some pretty wicked "bar sponsored" tailgates ... and he would also get pretty touchy feely whenever he got drunk trying to kiss everyone on their cheek, haha.
One time the LCB ransacked his place while i was in there and I yelled at out to him, "HEY GENE!!! AREN'T YOU GLAD I AM 21 NOW!?", haha, I had just turned it about 2 weeks prior and he looked at me like he wanted to kill me and all he said was, "Seriously ... that is what you decide to yell when LCB ish ere?"
The LCB was laughing ... unfortunately the girl I was with was not 21 (I had forgotten), but they let her go with a warning because I was being my usual asshole self walking up ordering beers, and playing the jukebox while everyone was getting carded, haha.
I played, "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who and kept going ... "YEA NOT BY ALL OF THESE FAKE ID'S, YOU WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN WILL YOU COPS?!"
I was banned for the bar for a month after that display, haha.
The one cop loved it though, he told me he did his first quallaude(sic) at a Who concert and we talked about how great the Who was/are for awhile.
In short ... try Old German.
