i actually know quite a few newly minted citizens such as myself who have written letters and been outraged about this. the media has had marginal interest in what this does to legal immigrants, and the people we elect couldn't give a damn.
i have heard from a few of them that "never in a million years would the government be so stupid as to do this, in turn alienating a large group of the voting population". HA!
