(May 14 07, 18:08)Actually a great suggestion. Download demos of each and see what you seem to take to best. Max, Maya and C4D all have trial versions.
We have a MAX dude and Maya dude at work. They both do excellent work and I attribute it to them as artists, and not the tools really. It just takes time!
