yea,
on the G4 that has NO burner, hold down "t" as soon as you turn it on. if succesful, the screen will show a big orange firewire icon randomly changing positions on the screen.
then, plug the G4 WITH the burner into the G4 WITHOUT the burner via firewire.
the G4 WITH the burner will see the the other G4 as a firewire drive. it will automount, and you can copy all your files over... mpeg-2, and AC-3 files, etc...
also, about the render farm idea... thats used for finalcutpro or other software that needs rendering. you will need to buy third party sofware to do that... (they also have to be networked)
the software can also use other machines too...final cut 4 includes network rendering.
