video storage on two G4s

well yeah I have two computers both have DV video stored on each Yet only one has the DVD-r burner. SO I need to get a video clip off the one that does not have the burner. Could I just drag the clip off that G4 to the other using a firewire or would I have to do this some other way? Has anyone done this?
