well I think he should quit... clearly his ideals about the industry are out of wack... suck it up, put your head down and power through.. You think you'll be working less hours as a freelancer and whose gonna be selling your creative, drumming up new business?
Find a new studio if you're so fed up with the current 'abuse,' but remember, you are a replaceable commodity until you've proven yourself otherwise...
