    BFD is available as an AU plugin, so you can use that. as far as i know, strike is RTAS only, so no go on that. logic comes with a few really nice bits of it's own- a good sampler, a pretty amazing drum synth, plus a few other synths.

    protools is great, don't get me wrong, it's just not as well suited to the heavy midi stuff that i still use. plus logic is just so far beyond with their virtual "environment" world.

    also, the way i see it, pt had the advantage when computers weren't powerful enough to do lots of tracks + processing, so the cards were necessary. that's not at all the case any more. they've also had a history of being well behind OS and core software updates, and i see this getting worse. apple is now competing directly with them on the software, and apogee is in tight on the hardware. i think they might be screwed on the mac platform.
