Spike Lee had to take out a $500,000 bond in case TNN wins the court case, to cover their losses in the event of a delayed launch (which has happened)
The station is nothing but crap stereotypical jock stuff-that's basically what they want to represent with Spike TV. I mean, they have a show called Striperella (done by Stan Lee) and what else, wrestling, "guy" shows that basically exploit women 24/7?
I think I've heard it's like Maxim and Stuff for TV.Many people in Hollywood and in the movie business had sided with Spike Lee, saying that when they heard of a channel or show called Spike TV, they instantly thought of him and assumed involvment. Granted, you could put out all kinds of statements to show no involvement with this show, but think about it in Spike Lee's viewpoint-His name is his brand, people think of certain things when they think of him. He's got that reputation to protect.
Besides, I've had trouble seeing how "Spike TV" is a legit thing for TNN to change to on the basis of wondering what that word means to their programming.
To be honest, I'd sooner think it was a beach volleyball channel before a reformat of TNN.
