I have quite a few things from ikea in our home. Everything that I've bought from them is still in great shape and holding up well.
On the other hand I dropped 2-3 times as much money on a few things from West Elm and almost every piece is chipping or warping to some degree. The coffee table I got from them, the finish is chipping and it's warped around the screws.
ikea stuff, though cheap is build like a brick shithouse.
