tell it how it is, say they have bad ideas when they do and have a reason. be prepared and willing to receive the same treatment. the fact you may personally have an issue with something is not reason enough to persuade them.
i recently went through this with a client. i presented my case as well i could citing examples and reasons in a well thought out prepared document.
at the end, he said, "we're paying right?"
he can have whatever he wants as long as he is treating me with the same respect i am treating him.
open communication is key to success for both parties.
while you're immediate goal may be to make pictures that make your peers envious, the real goal should be to prove a record of success both in launching projects be it broadcast, web, or print that both please and benefit the client as well as yourself
