Core duo or core duo 2 ?

    um, doubt that. now would be a good time to get a mbp as they were "just" updated with the c2d. i don't think you'll see these updated until intel starts shipping their new chipset, santa rosa, which is slated for may, but who knows how long it'll be before apple incorporates them. remember how long it took them to make the switch from the core duo to the core 2 duo? it was months. i think at the earliest it'll be wwdc in june. that buyer's guide is a little off as apple's update patterns have changed since the switch to intel. the only machine i'd consider waiting for is the 8-core mac pro which apple should deliver as soon as intel's new desktop chipset (stoakley-seaburg) is shipping.

    it's ridiculous to play the waiting game with apple now, no one has any idea when updates will come. it's been repeated so many times but buy it if you need it.

    back on topic, the biggest difference would be core 2 duos are 64 bit and run cooler.
