As for a film like 300, of course it targets a specific audience, as is the case with most films. However, it's also an epic, which means that it is created to be spectacular to more than just a few groups of people.
I haven't seen the film yet, but I've mainly heard positive things about it.
And with the graphical achievements I'm sure some of the storylines can be overlooked, if there are any major faults.
