I hit one three years ago in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's got a whole new front end on it now. Totally destroyed the front end.
The Sheriff who came out to write me up had also hit them. He said they were responding to a domestic call on the other side of the county and doing about 125 mph to get there (man with a gun). He realized that deer might be on the road ahead just around the corner. He got on the radio to warn the other cars coming up behind him, when he saw them. About 35 of them standing on the roadway. He slowed to about 100 before plowing right into them.
Since he was on the radio warning the others when he hit them, the air bag went off and slammed the microphone into his face. He said you could read "Motorola" on his cheek for about week.
Hitting a deer will change the way you drive.
Glad you're okay man, but you're lucky. They've come right into the passenger compartment after being hit around here killing occupants.
