i remember creating a routine around things i really enjoyed. like just about every day after work i'd go for a really long bike ride and then either make sushi or go out to have it w/friends. i had little time to dwell. that worked for the first couple of months after which i felt much better about staying home on my own and doing my thing w/out feeling too sad.
so take up surfing or some other sport or pastime you'll really enjoy. pack your days if you can and if you think it'll help you. time passes and it gets much better, so this initial distraction can be helpful.
