are you respected at work? somewhat

    do they listen? not really

do they take you as full? i don't think so

and how did you get there? even with a little over 5 years business exp under my belt the suits here don't seem to take me or my work seriously. i think the problem is i'm working for a software development firm whom have never had any hands on experience with web design.

they don't seem to understand, or want to, the basic fundamentals of good web and print design. i.e.

them: "our corporate colors are red, black, and white."

me: (nicely)"actually your corporate color is red. black is a tint and white is a shade... not really colors, but that's no matter."

them: "whatever, just make the background of our website red and use white text."

me: (again nicely) "that puts a tremendous strain on the eyes and is a real no-no. we shouldn't do it."

    them: "just do it"

(after doing it a week later)

them: "jesus... i can't read this!?! why did you do this?"

me: "you told me to. it seemed that your degree in law somehow overwrote and had precedence over my degree and background in design. (as nicely as i could)."

so you can see where i'm going with this..
