You can run existing windows programs on an Intel Mac if you have parallels software or download bootcamp. You will then need an official copy of windows to install.
I've just switched to a Mac but to be honest I'm running win XP on it most of the time since I only have CS2 etc for win not MAC. The MAC OS is better than win (IMO) and once you get used to it is less painful to live with. In fact having both on the same machine gives a nice back to back comparison. This is my second attempt to switch to MACs - first time it was just crap and I returned to windows.If you're doing web development/design win is slightly better since that is probably the environment 90% of the rest of the world will view your sites on. I think flash is better in windows too. Having said that I have the fastest MACBOOK I could afford with 3gb RAM and flash seems fine on that too.
Go Mac, buy windows and play with both!
