    No - I'm running a radeon 9800 on windows, with 2 displays - one DVI, one VGA.

    If I remember correctly, the default setting after simply plugging the two monitors in is that they should both display copies of the same 'single source' output. You then have to use the ATi control panel ('catalyst') to specify whether you'd like to split the screen or whatever. Basically - it should just work on plug in.

    Have you tried swapping the monitors around / not using the Belkin?

    What does your ATi control panel report? It should spell it out to you in the 'Displays manager' option.
