My house was built in 1979. There is a lot that needs to be updated and the previous owners did not take any care in the work that they did do.
Recently I have: removed a tree, painted the cabinets and kitchen walls, added all new light fixtures and started to remove some white painted paneling in the family room.
Parts of the paneling was glue to a perfectly plastered wall. Which puzzles me but I guess paneling was the thing back then. So I guess to fix the patches of damaged plaster I'm going to do a venetian plaster over the surface. That is this weekends project.
I still have a ton to do here: 4 new ee windows, new ee patio door, ee furnace and tankless water heater, remove another tree, plant new ones, wood floors, new tile shower and vanity in one bathroom, new tile in another, new interior doors and trim, etc, etc.
It is expensive and a lot of work but it is a great learning experience.
