helll no. i never do a per comp rate. it's so easy for the clients to screw me over on that. always hourly. even if i quote a project rate, i'd add if it exceed XX hours, then the hourly fee of $ XX will apply.
you can always say that you had an unfortunate accident of dead HD while backing up and the work is gone. no question asked.
