    i was in la when the levees broke. i was also in la 4 days before the weather broke and we all watched the impending doom on websites and traded links and hoped them all well.

    if i had enough time to realized they were fucked, so did they. i have a hard time feeling sorry for someone once they burn their hand after i told them the stove was hot.

    same situation, people trying to beat the odds against nature.

    Jjust 'cause you knew about doesn't mean that they did, more than likely they did but it's not a given that they did.

    When Juan hit Nova Scotia a few years ago I had no idea until an hour or 2 before it hit, and even then I didn't relize how bad it was going to be. There were four of us living in a town hosue and not one of us really had any idea what was happening, we just chalked it up to "just another storm". So chances are most people had the same thoughts about Katrina.
