it depends... i have a full time job, and all my apps at work are fully paid versions of the programs. on my mac at home (at work im on a pc) i have several programs i'm running that i didn't pay for. i use them for personal projects, or the occasional freelance project that comes up. however, if i made my living off of freelancing, i'd most likely go out and purchase all the tools and write it off on my taxes. Since I'd be making real money from using the products, it's only right that i would pay for them. I think it depends on the situation, as to whether or not you should or would feel guilty about it.
