those emails are to basically pump up a stock. The stock is usually what is called a penny stock. Some thing under $1. They buy a ton of stock, then spam the stock to millions of people with some bs headline about how it's going to blow up. Some people think its real so they look into, some buy. The buying pushes the stock up a few cents. So more people buy thinking it's true. If the stock goes up 10 cents its a good day because that can be a huge % increase. Most of the time, they sell all the shares they buy pretty quickly, which drops the price pretty bad. Only people that win on those is the spammer... unless your really lucky and sell it when they do.
Oh, and it's completely illegal to pump and dump stocks. but I've been getting a ton of those too.
