Yes, Walnut Whales & Yarn and Glue; Milk-Eyed Mender are both good, parlour-esque.

But her latest, Y's in my view is brilliant. Not to everyone's liking I'm sure but nonetheless, a 5-track allergorical journey through a slightly [indirectly] autobiographic Newsom. I've been listening to this non-stop and always hearing new things in it. Check out the lyrics too:

"That the meteorite is a source of the light
And the meteor's just what we see
And the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee..."

"In the trough of the waves
    Which are pawing like dogs
    Pitch we, pale-faced and grave,
As I write in my log"

As you can see, this doesn't fit into any particular genre, neither folk, or pop, or parlour or anything... just pure Joanna Newsom.

    (mixed by Jim O'Rourke)
