Yes, Walnut Whales & Yarn and Glue; Milk-Eyed Mender are both good, parlour-esque.
But her latest, Y's in my view is brilliant. Not to everyone's liking I'm sure but nonetheless, a 5-track allergorical journey through a slightly [indirectly] autobiographic Newsom. I've been listening to this non-stop and always hearing new things in it. Check out the lyrics too:
"That the meteorite is a source of the light
And the meteor's just what we see
And the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee...""In the trough of the waves
Which are pawing like dogs
Pitch we, pale-faced and grave,
As I write in my log"As you can see, this doesn't fit into any particular genre, neither folk, or pop, or parlour or anything... just pure Joanna Newsom.
