http://typetester.maratz.com/ suggests Arial Narrow isn't a Windows default font. I have installed many versions of Windows and I'd say it had been there for years. Not that it's extremely usable, but looks interesting with letter-spacing: 1px.
Lucida Grande is grand, but like many OSX fonts, doesn't seem to be optimized for non-smoothed display.
I still can't get over osx's bad kerning in general with smoothing off.
On the other hand, some of Vista fonts seem to override cleartype and look pixel-sharp in certain sizes - I never saw it in XP.
