Actually, I remember when I was starting out getting so mad at what I considered 'hacks' for the same exact reason. I thought they cheapened what I did and competed with me for projects. I've actually lost a client because when they went to cut the check the woman in finance's husband "has a copy of Photoshop and FrontPage and likes to do this stuff as a hobby and he'll do it for free."
I was so angry. but now that I've been around a bit those kinds of things don't happen as much although working at a software company I have to contend with developers and interns making their own designs, getting the dev manager to like it so they say all my stuff is junk and they just want me to make their designs 'work'. oooh I hate them. I hate them so much . . .
