It's pretty similar in Leeds in terms of development. You should see the incredible number of absolutely horrible "city centre living" appartments that have been built in the last 4-5 years.
I can't possibly see where the demand for so many flats is coming from but I'd bet my last quid that a lot of them will be available at a good discount in 2 years time because they'll be empty.
