why would you think that?
i had a hd crash once, but only when it would get warmed up. i had to frankenstien the hd as a slave to pull data off.
basically stripped the hd down to the bare parts and set it up as an external hd without a case and booted from a new hd i installed in the computer, then as fast as i could pulled data off the old hd before it had another meltdown.
if you can't get it to boot as a slave take it to a true computer nurd and see if they can do anything with it.
