Yeah, they do...just not 100%. In the digital realm you need to have creative visions, and also know (varies by position/project/firm/everything... how they are going to be built. But yeah, it is unfair when a company seeks a designer and asks for SQL and ASP skills. Very few people have that skillset as well as a honed eye for design. Personally, I try to find a balance in between both. The thing is, a designers eye/brain never gets outdated, while software always does. I still despise ASP heh.
