Its a bit convoluted, but it works like a charm. For best results, save each vector as a separate .AI file, and save as 8.0 Illy AI file. Then, in the content browser, which you can find in the window menu set at the top, search for your files. It will default to a 'simplified browser' setting... but make sure to change the view setting to the standard setting, which you can do by either control clicking in the browser window, or right-clicking for submenu. You should be good to go from there. good luck.
