I disagree. I mean, there are extremes, but I don't want to look at everyday people all the time.
I am not saying that every picture I see should be a swim suit model, but with the US growing towards obesity as the standard, I would not want to see 'normal' people in adds.And as an additional note, I enjoy seeing things that inspire me. A beautiful woman, even a fit man (only in the 'shit, I need to go to the gym'), inspires me to try a little harder at everything I do, work out a little more, jog a little farther, and try to be the best I can.
Is that shallow? I don't know, but I think visual stimulus matters, I see enough people scarfing Mickey D's each day, overweight, and simply not caring about their health. That I don't care to see advertised. That is what is rapidly becoming 'normal' and I want no part of it.
