I've had to do them for project scheduling in a team. If it's just you're own work... you could use them. It might be overkill and pain in the ass upkeep.
A calendar with a piece of acrylic and some windex might work better. Something that lives in your physical space so you don't have to open it up and refer to bits of it and scroll around.
If you run a firm, then I could swing the other way and say they're useful, but personally I probably wouldn't bother.
