    get the asian ramen. korean, japanese, thai - these are the best. you will have to trek to the asian grocer, but it's worth it. you will pay a bit more, but to eat a little better than nasty ramen is a good thing. to the korean ones (u-dong, kimchi, shin ramen) i would add an egg right into the noodles, either egg-drop style or just boiled. and yes, these also have tons of sodium and MSG.

    recommended asian ramen:
    korean (udong, kimchi, kalgooksu, yookgaejang)
    japanese (sapporo ichiban)
