Use the Export Wizard to export your personal files folders, (Calendar, Email, Notes, Contacts, etc) and use the Import wizard to import them into the other machine, is one way. It's a bit complicated but the "Help" helps.
The other way I do it now, is to sync it to my Zire (Palm) from my desktop, then sync the Zire with my laptop, budda-bing... works everytime.
The software I use for that is Chapura (free download and/or comes with the Zire).
It syncs from->to, or to->from, or sync->same. Pretty slick.
