when you squeeze a screen, say from 768 px wide to 720 px wide, you do actually lose 48 pixels, which can cause a stepping effect on high contrast graphics (like the black against white that you have).
Have you looked at it on a telly tho? the fuzziness of a telly can kinda smooth it back into something you won't worry about.
