Editors Vs. Interpol

I love this thread.
I used to bitch about Editors being too similar to Interpol, but then realise that a 'sound' isn't copyrighted....what about all the heavy metal bands that sound really similar? Same as design really - justy because one person does a certain style, it doesn't mean that it's only to be used by them.
I much prefer interpol because there's more enigma to them and they're much more avant garde than editors. I think they're great live, becasue they're so tight and don't speak at all during the show. Stage presence doesn't always have to be jumping around and chatting to the crowd (the antithesis of The Go Team perhaps?).
The JD referenec is inevitable but JD were much darker than interpol and editors are – the newer bands take the JD influence into a sound that fits in today's indie-pop environment.
I do wish Interpol would record some more though...
