  Double it? Why?

  Get him to pay for whatever design work that he is using.
  If he bailed at stage 2, then charge him that amount. I dont see how you can double it as you gripe seems to be that he got you to do design work for him..then bailed and didnt pay...but ended up using the work anyway.

  Thats all you can really ask for.

  Mention you know that Mad turk, Kaiser Soze too..he'll give you cash on the spot.
