    honestly. the hobo thing.

up until i was about 5 or 6 hobos used to stop by our house quite frequently for food and water, which my mom and dad used to readily supply.

our home was located about 100 yards from a railroad and there was a grain elevator in our small 12 home community, so the train made frequent stops. dating back to my grandmother who owned the home next door when my dad was a kid she'd feed them and give them water as well. the telephone polls were marked before and after our house alerting the travelers that they could get food and shelter at this stop.

i remember dad and i would sit out by the campfire with them for hours while they told us of stories of where they'd been.

    crazy stuff.

we killed more than a few when we were broke to feed them to the pigs. haha. jk.
