I just read a post from you saying that the US Army are the best but only in theatres of war that meet certain criteria?! If these criteria aren't matched then they struggle?

(Jul 20 06, 05:50)Exactly. So I take it you haven't read alot of history. You know certain armies are brilliant at some things and shitty at others. Nature of the beast, my man. Armies are resources, they are designed. You design them to fight particular types of enemies in particular conditions.
An extended stint as an occupying force with hostile violent non-state actors is the LAST job the modern US military was designed to do.
