Jamble, I won't get into a large argument with you about this, but the conflict in Uraq is not one the US military was designed for. There isn't a singlr theater of operations that the US military can be outfought anywhere in the world except in A) an extended land battle in east asia and b) as an occupying army.
And Bush threw them into something they were not designed for.
No other military comes close to the capabilities and performance at the scale and reach the US can do. Our nation isn't even mobolized, there is no compulsary service. these are all volunteers.
They were just given a shitty job they weren't designed to do.
