get a shipping company that specializes in small loads.
they tend to be about half the price of Uhaul. but make sure you get them to come to your place and quote it, I made the mistake of just TELLING a moving company what i had, and they billed me double what they quoted...(after they'd moved my stuff across the country and had it on their loading dock... I was in no position to argue)
even still, it was half the price of Uhaul. (they quoted 1/4)
