    I think, in this instance, that the piece is done in 2-ply (judging by the holes at the top), with hunter printed on reverse, which would prevent see-through when the light is off.

    You could use 'thermochromic' inks, which change with heat, and the only place I've come across them practically are from in sticker format from a company called Mercian Labels (UK).

    I can imagine ink altered by light would be a permenant change, rather than the temporary one you are after..
