    that's rough and I would like to say I have sympathy for you man, but considering how I lose £1000 a month paying tax I'm finding it hard to be that sympathetic.
    Get yourself a decent lawyer and start discussing a payback option.
    There's no point in them throwing you in the slammer if you can show you are prepared to pay back what you owe.
    Either that or head for the border...

    I must say I feel the same, I don't pay as much as soda as clearly I don't earn as much but the taxes go out of my account all the same and it's a real crapper especially since a lot of the time I wonder what they're actually being spent on.

    However, not paying taxes because you don't understand how they work is beyond naiive.

    I do sympathise though, I guess you've already got the best and most obvious advice though and that's seek professional help from an accountant or tax lawyer and go from there. Much as people on forums are helpful, the amount in question and ramifications would mean I'd come here for moral support but not legal aid!
