wadafa that deserves a read, thanks.
Ability to concentrate for long periods was stated as key in the book I am reading too.
Reason for some Autistic people having incredible talents is thought to be because of their ability to shut out the outside world and focus on a single thing for a prolonged period.
Whilst the aurgument that a supportive society can foster more geniuses is true I also believe that overcoming extreme hardships can also foster geniuses. the unquenchable thirst for knowledge or excellence becomes an escape route out of their situation.
