Colossus' has a great backstory which gets the "no" treatment in the movies.
"Hmm ... Colossus, Colossus, uh ... he's just some random kid who looks like a tank normally but turns into one like literally if he wants to. Also ... he needs a catch. That's not catchy. OH YEA HE SPEAKETH WITH RUSSIAN ACCENT! WHY?! WHO CARES!"
