    Get a Dell with 3years warranty.
    Maybe they'r not the prettiest machines, BUT, here is the mine experience:

    DVD not working: i called them, 2 or 3 tests and 2 days later, mr Dell arrived and replaced my drive.

    LCD BackLight gone: i called them, after 2 days mr Dell arrived and replaced my LCD

    And the same for the video card.

    I know it may seem a shitty machine, but who cares when they come to your house or wherever you are and replace the parts in front of you?
