You don't need an alarm, just get a bunch of security stickers and put them in every window. Teenage punks are stupid and it will scare them off. They will move on to an easier target. Trust me.
My car got broken into back in 2001. The next day I put a fake LED scanner on the dash. No break-ins for the next 5 years.
Flash forward to 4 months ago...Getting into the car in a hurry i accidently snap the cord connecting the LED to the fuse box...My car gets broken into a week later. They steal my stereo, 2 skateboards plus pads and tools, my ipod fm transmitter, $40 "emergency cash" I kept in the glove box (which is just stupid i know), and what really pissed be off was they took an old independent beanie i was very fond of.
I got a new car now and put a real alarm in it because i don't want to take any chances anymore.
