Um, I'm pretty sure from what he said about what you don't know about... the only people they 'tortured' were the ones pointing guns at them spraying and praying.
You really think they just walk around a market and grab whomever and torture them? You watch TV too much.
Do you know anyone who has served over there? If so, what did they tell you about it?
